What is an early close day?
On early close days, the NYSE and NASDAQ close at 1:00 PM Eastern Time instead of 4:00 PM. Early closes typically occur the day before major holidays - July 3rd (before Independence Day), the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. After-hours trading does not occur on early close days.
